What data does a photo store?
Many store the GPS location, date and time, the phone or camera model and the software used. This is called metadata or EXIF.
Does removing it lose quality?
Not for JPG, PNG and WebP: only the data is removed and the image stays identical. HEIC photos are saved as JPG.
Do WhatsApp or social networks already remove it?
Many do when you post, but not when you send the photo as a document or by email. If in doubt, remove it yourself.
Does the map send my location anywhere?
Not to any third party. The map is served by nxpic and only shows the approximate region, without streets.
